Printed Posters + ePosters

At IMC 12, we are delighted to once again invite you to create a Printed Poster (to be displayed in the Poster Gallery on-site) and an ePoster (which will be available on the congress App and website).

Printed Posters will be displayed in the exhibition area during the Congress hours during breaks. Each poster will be displayed for a two-day shift, which will be divided into two groups: Odd Numbers and Even Numbers.

Poster presenters should refer to the Poster Help Desk in the Poster Area in order to locate their board number(s).

SHIFT 1 – 12-13 August:

  • Mounting: From Sunday, August 11, from 16:30-19:45.
  • Removal: By Tuesday, August 13, by 16:30.

SHIFT 2 – 14-15 August:

  • Mounting: From Tuesday, August 13, from 17:30-20:00.
  • Removal: By Thursday, August 15th, by 16:30.

 

Poster presenters are invited to be in the vicinity of their posters for informal discussions and to answer any questions.

SHIFT 1

  • Odd Numbers – Monday, August 12, from 14:00 – 15:00
  • Even Numbers – Tuesday, August 13, from 14:00 – 15:00

SHIFT 2

  • Odd Numbers – Monday, August 14, from 13:30 – 14:30
  • Even Numbers – Tuesday, August 15, from 13:30 – 14:30

IMPORTANT:

  • You are expected to prepare and bring your printed poster to the meeting venue. There will be no printing facilities onsite.
  • The organisers are not responsible for any posters that have not been removed by the end of their shift.
  • If you do not remove your poster by the specified time, it will be removed and discarded. We kindly ask for your cooperation in meeting the removal deadline.

ePosters are available on the Congress App in the ePoster Gallery.

All Poster presenters are required to register for the Congress. If you have not yet done so, you may find information regarding registration by clicking here.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Poster Authors must bring their printed poster to the congress. There are no facilities onsite at the congress to print posters.
  • Do not leave anything on the floor near or under the poster board once it is set up. Anything on the floor is a safety hazard, and the International Mycological Congress (IMC12) and the organisers are not responsible for any resulting losses.

Authors are encouraged to stand by their posters during the breaks for informal discussions or to answer questions.

 

POSTER BOARD NUMBERS

  • You will be sent a confirmation email with your Poster Board number (you will receive this closer to the congress). You will also be able to approach the Poster Board Help Desk on-site to ask for the board number on which you should display your poster.
  • Please use the board with the same number.

 

POSTER FORMAT AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Poster Board orientation: PORTRAIT (VERTICAL)
  • Poster Board Size: 92 cm wide x 236 cm high
  • It is recommended that your poster be no larger than 75 cm wide x 160 cm high
    • (However, if you wish, you may use standard A0 size – 84.1 cm x 118.9 cm).
  • The text, illustrations, etc., should be bold enough to be read from a distance of two meters.
  • Select colours that provide enough contrast between the text, images and background, so that text and images are legible for anyone with low vision or colour deficiencies. Avoid green on red and red on green.
  • Allocate the top of the poster for the title and authors as stated on the submitted abstract.
  • If using QR codes, please note that they must not link to commercial content or images.
  • Double-sided tape will be available in the poster area for hanging of posters. Staff will also be in the poster area to assist you.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR ePOSTERS

When submission opens, please submit your ePoster as a PDF file in portrait orientation.

If you wish, you may use an ePoster template that can be downloaded here.

  • File Format: 1-page PDF
  • Orientation: Create your document in PowerPoint Portrait Layout and save it as a PDF file
  • Font types: Arial, Calibri, Verdana Times New Roman or Helvetica fonts are recommended.
  • Font size: 11 points or larger
  • Hyperlinks, animated images, animations and videos are not permitted
  • QR Codes may be included – QR codes must not link to commercial content or images.
  • Images and tables: at least 200 dpi. Good picture quality is essential.
  • When inserting images, photos, tables, etc., use copy-paste. Do not use embedded documents
  • Avoid overlapping objects and layers. Only the final view/status will be visible
  • When saving your PDF please do not use symbols or special characters (i.e. +/@/ü) in the file name
  • Please do not use headers and footers
  • File size: Less than 5 MB
